The View from Sky Tower in Wrocław: Which Floor to Choose and Can You Stay Overnight?
The highest viewpoint in Sky Tower in Wrocław is the observation deck on the 49th floor, about 200 metres above the ground. You can also stay overnight in the tower, just a little lower: on floors 28–46. That is where you will find 26 In The Sky short-stay apartments, the highest short-term rental apartments in Wrocław. The deck closes at 20:30, so late evenings, sunrise and summer sunsets can only be seen from the tower through the window of an apartment.

Which floor of Sky Tower has the best panorama?#
If height is all that matters, the 49th floor wins: the observation deck is the highest publicly accessible viewpoint in Wrocław. Sky Tower is 212 metres tall and has 51 floors above ground. The deck covers 600 m² and has a café, and in good weather you can step outside.
From this height you can see Ostrów Tumski, the Market Square and the Odra River with its bridges, and on a clear day even Mount Ślęża on the horizon. It is a view of the whole city at once, ideal for a first visit when you want to understand how Wrocław is laid out.
The best panorama is not always the highest one, though. The deck shows the city only during opening hours. Floors 28–46, where the apartments are located, are 3 to 21 floors lower, but they offer a view at any time of day or night, from your own window and without watching the clock for the last lift up.
The 49th-floor observation deck: what to check before you go up#
You reach the deck in a multimedia lift. A standard ticket costs 53 PLN, a reduced ticket 40 PLN, and children under 3 enter at no charge. Holders of the Nasz Wrocław card (the city's resident card) receive a 10% discount. Up-to-date information is available on the Sky Tower observation deck website.
The deck is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 20:30 and on Sunday from 10:00 to 20:30. The last entry is about 30 minutes before closing, so plan to be at the lift by around 20:00 at the latest.
Luggage, food, drinks and animals are not allowed at the top. If you are arriving in Wrocław with a suitcase and staying in Sky Tower, check in first (from 15:00) and leave your things in the apartment, then head up to the deck.
When the view is at its best: the season changes everything#
What you see from the tower depends above all on the time of sunset compared with the deck's opening hours. In practice, the year falls into three periods:
- Autumn and winter: in early October the sun sets around 18:30, at the end of the month (after the clocks change) around 16:40, and in December around 15:45. This is the best time for the deck: you will catch the sunset and still have time for the night panorama before 20:30.
- Mid-May to early August: in June the sun sets around 21:10, after the deck has closed. During this period you can only watch the sunset from the tower from an apartment with west-facing windows.
- The remaining months: compare the sunset time on the day of your visit with the last entry at around 20:00.
The deck is no good for sunrise, as it opens at 9:00 (10:00 on Sundays). The other factor is the weather: Mount Ślęża is only visible when the air is clear, so if a distant horizon matters to you, keep the day of your visit flexible.

Which apartment to choose for the view? Start with the direction of the windows#
When choosing an apartment for the panorama, the direction of the windows matters more than the floor. It decides whether you will see the sunset, the sunrise or the Market Square:
- Sunsets: you need west-facing windows. For example, the Diuna apartment on the 33rd floor with a jacuzzi in the living room and a view of the sunsets (from 1,570 PLN per night).
- Sunrises: Duo Deluxe on the 38th floor facing east, for up to 4 guests; the price depends on the dates.
- A view towards the Market Square: Deluxe with a bathtub by the window on the 28th floor (from 850 PLN) and one of the Deluxe apartments with a jacuzzi, the one on the 38th floor (this type from 1,180 PLN).
- As high as possible: the 46th floor is the highest floor with apartments: Superior Suite (100 m², from 600 PLN) and Executive Suite with a bathtub (from 770 PLN).
- A jacuzzi by the window, as high as possible: the highest apartment with a jacuzzi is the Presidential Apartment on the 39th floor (from 1,520 PLN).
All prices are "from" rates per night; at weekends, on public holidays and during trade fairs they may be higher. Before booking, check the apartment description to see which way the windows face.
The deck and a night at the top in one day: a sample plan for June#
Combining the deck with an overnight stay pays off most in summer, when the sunset falls after the deck has closed. This is what a June day might look like:
- 15:00: check in at the ground-floor reception and leave your luggage in the apartment.
- Around 19:30: go up to the 49th-floor deck for a daylight panorama from the highest point in the city.
- 20:30: the deck closes and you return to your apartment.
- Around 21:10: watch the sunset from the window of a west-facing apartment.
- After dark: the lights of Wrocław without leaving the apartment; quiet hours apply from 22:00.
- In the morning: the morning panorama from your window and check-out by 11:00.
In autumn and winter you can still catch the sunset on the deck, while the apartment gives you the city lights at night and the morning view.
