Weekend accommodation in Wrocław – where to stay and what to look out for?
For a weekend in Wrocław, the best place to stay is where you will spend most of your time: in the Old Town if you want to explore on foot, near Ostrów Tumski or in Nadodrze if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, and a little further from the Market Square – for example around Sky Tower – if you are arriving by car and want a view. Whatever the area, before booking check the weekend rate, Friday check-in and Sunday check-out times, parking and cancellation terms.
Below you will find a short overview of four areas, how to match your accommodation to your weekend plans and a list of things worth checking before you pay. The examples of times and fees come from In The Sky Apartments in Sky Tower. Information as of October 2026.
Weekend accommodation in Wrocław: four areas to choose from#
Choosing an area for the weekend means choosing between being close to the sights and having peace and quiet. Each of the areas below has its strengths – and its drawbacks.
Old Town and Market Square
This is the most convenient base if it is your first time in Wrocław and you want to see as much as possible without using public transport. Most of the landmarks and restaurants are within a short walk.
The price of this convenience is the bustle. On Friday and Saturday evenings the Market Square and the neighbouring streets can stay loud until late. If you are a light sleeper, ask for windows facing the courtyard and what occupies the ground floor of the building. Parking in the very centre can also be difficult, so if you are arriving by car, ask about a space before you book.
Ostrów Tumski and its surroundings
Ostrów Tumski is a historic part of Wrocław on the Oder, with the cathedral and several churches, within walking distance of the Market Square. In the evening it is usually quieter here than in the Old Town, and a walk along the Oder is a fine way to end the day.
It is a good choice for a quiet weekend for two. The choice of accommodation here is usually smaller than in the very centre, though, so for popular dates it is worth looking early and considering the neighbouring streets as well.
Nadodrze
Nadodrze lies north of the Oder and is known for its tenement houses, cafés and a more local atmosphere than the Market Square. You can walk to the Old Town or take a tram a few stops.
This area suits people who like to discover a city off the main tourist trail. The standard of the buildings and the surroundings can vary within just a few streets, however, so before you book, look at the area on a map and in photos – not just the interior.
Around Sky Tower
Sky Tower stands about 2 km south-west of the Market Square. You can reach the Old Town in about 10 minutes, as trams run along Powstańców Śląskich right by the building; on foot it takes about 25–30 minutes.
In return for that distance you get parking in the building and a view from a height that no tenement house in the centre can offer. On floors 28–46 you will find In The Sky apartments in Sky Tower – 26 short-stay apartments with a reception desk on the ground floor, priced from 520 PLN per night depending on the dates. It is an aparthotel, not a classic hotel: there is no restaurant and breakfast is not included in the rate, but the shopping gallery downstairs has restaurants, cafés and a supermarket open until 22:00.
What kind of weekend are you planning? Match your accommodation to your plans#
The best area is the one that fits your plans for Saturday. A few typical scenarios:
- First time in Wrocław, intensive sightseeing – the Old Town. You head out in the morning and return in the evening without thinking about getting around.
- A quiet weekend for two – the area around Ostrów Tumski or accommodation with a view, high above the city. You will find a ready-made two-day idea in our plan for a romantic weekend in Wrocław.
- Arriving by car – accommodation with a guaranteed parking space, even if it means staying a few stops from the Market Square. You leave the car for the whole weekend and get around by tram.
- A weekend with uncertain weather – a base with indoor attractions. Sky Tower has, among others, Kolejkowo with its model railway, Sky Bowling open until midnight on Saturdays and a viewing terrace on the 49th floor – see the full list of attractions in the Sky Tower building.
- A weekend with children – a larger apartment with a separate bedroom, close to the places you plan to visit. At In The Sky, Suite apartments are recommended for families, and children up to 6 years old who do not need an extra bed stay at no extra charge.

Book your stay →What to look out for when booking weekend accommodation#
When booking for a weekend, a few things matter more than midweek. Check these points before you pay:
- Weekend rate – on Fridays and Saturdays accommodation is usually more expensive, as it is on long weekends, public holidays and during major events in the city. At In The Sky, rates also rise during trade fairs, and for Valentine's Day and December weekends the property recommends booking 3–4 weeks in advance.
- Friday check-in time – if you are arriving after work, check until what time the reception is open or how you will collect your keys. A late arrival may involve an additional charge.
- Sunday check-out time – usually before noon. Ask whether the property can store your luggage if you want to stay in the city until the evening.
- Parking – spaces in the centre are scarce, and at weekends you are competing with other visitors. Ask whether a space needs to be reserved.
- Noise on Friday and Saturday evenings – ask which side the windows face and whether there is a nightclub in the building.
- Cancellation terms – these vary between properties. Check until when you can cancel with a refund and whether you can change the dates.
The last point is the booking channel. The same night booked directly on the property's website is often cheaper than on a booking portal – at In The Sky, booking online is up to 10% cheaper than on booking portals.
From Friday to Sunday – how check-in and check-out times shape your weekend#
Check-in and check-out times determine how much of the weekend you actually spend in your accommodation and how much with a suitcase in hand. This is how it works at In The Sky:
- Friday – check-in from 15:00, reception open daily 9:00–21:00. A later arrival must be arranged with reception in advance; it costs 100 PLN until 23:00 and 200 PLN after 23:00.
- Saturday – a whole day for the city. Quiet hours apply from 22:00 to 6:00.
- Sunday – check-out by 11:00; each additional hour started costs 100 PLN. If you still want to go up to the viewing terrace, remember that luggage is not allowed there – on Sundays the terrace is open 10:00–20:30.
When booking, also have cash or a card ready for the refundable 500 PLN deposit. Detailed rules on payment, cancellation and changing dates are set out in the In The Sky short-stay terms and conditions.
